**STATS 67 Introduction to Probability and Statistics for Computer Science (Credit Units: 4)** Introductory course focusing on basic concepts in probability and statistics with discussion of applications to computer science. Prerequisite: MATH 2B . STATS 7 and MGMT 7 may not be taken for credit if taken after STATS 67. Only one course from STATS 7, MGMT 7, and STATS 67. (Design units: 0)

Calculus - differentiation & integration

- Probability-simple and conditional probabilitities; counting; discrete random variables; continuous random variables; joint probability distributions
- Statistical interference-sampling and sampling distributions; estimation with confidencce intervals; tests of hypotheses; simple linear regression

Meets for 3 hours of lecture and 2 hours of discussion each week for 10 weeks.
