MATH 2A Single-Variable Calculus (Credit Units: 4) Introduction to derivatives, calculation of derivatives of algebraic and trigonometric functions; applications including curve sketching, related rates and optimization. Exponential and logarithm functions. Prerequisite: Math 1B or placement into MATH 2A via the Calculus Placement exam (fee required), or a score of 3 on the AP Calculus AB exam, or a score of 600 or higher on the Mathematics section of the SAT Reasoning Test. Math 1B with a grade of C or better. . School of Physical Sciences, School of Engineering, and School of Information and Computer Sciences majors have first consideration for enrollment. .
