ENGRMAE 132 Computational Fluid Dynamics (Credit Units: 4) Introduction to computational fluid dynamics in simple engineering devices. The numerical simulations will be performed via the widely-used software ANSYS-Fluent. While Fluent is the choice of software, all major CFD packages are based on a similar numerical method. Prerequisite: ENGRMAE 130B. Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical Engineering majors have first consideration. (Design units: 0)

  • Laminar flow in an axisymmetric sudden pipe-expansion

Meets for 3 hours of lecture each week for 10 weeks.

Computer Usage:

Access to ANSYS (FLUENT) software on student’s own computer. Licenses are provided by the department.
