EECS 150 Continuous-Time Signals and Systems (Credit Units: 4) Characteristics and properties of continuous-time (analog) signals and systems. Analysis of linear time-invariant continuous-time systems using differential equation convolutional models. Analysis of these systems using Laplace transforms, Fourier series, and Fourier transforms. Examples from applications to telecommunications. Formerly EECS150A. Prerequisite: EECS70A/CSE70A; EECS145. (Design units: 0)

Course Learning Outcomes. Students will:

1. Understand and appreciate the nature of signal processing by examples from telecommunications and information technologies. (EAC h, EAC j)

2. Describe elementary properties of continuous time (CT) signals and systems. (EAC a)

3. Analyze continuous-time (CT) linear time-invariant (LTI) systems using differential equations and convolutional models and Laplace Transforms. (EAC a)

4. Analyze CT signals and CT-LTI systems using Fourier Series and Fourier Transforms, and understand the use of frequency response in CT LTI system analysis and design. (EAC a, EAC e)

5. Describe some simple applications of the techniques mentioned above to communication systems. (EAC h)
