1. Become familiar with the field of Electrical Engineering and its various subdisciplines.

2. Become familiar with the Electrical Engineering curriculum at UCI.

3. Plan a program of study that meets the university, school and department requirements for graduation.

4. Write a research paper on a current Electrical Engineering topic.

Lecture Topics:

Introduction to Electrical Engineering and its subdisciplines, Introduction to the specializations in the UCI Electrical Engineering department: Electronic Circuit Design; Semiconductors and Optoelectronics; RF, Antennas and Microwaves; Digital Signal Processing; Communications; Power and Control Systems.

Class Schedule:

Meets for 1 hour of lecture each week for 10 weeks.

Computer Usage:

Word processing software, basic internet tools.
