CHEM 1LD General Chemistry Laboratory (Credit Units: 2) Training and experience in basic laboratory techniques. Chemical practice and principles illustrated through experiments related to lecture topics of CHEM 1A-1B-1C Prerequisite: CHEM 1C and CHEM 1LC with a grade of C- of better. No credit for CHEM M2LA if taken after CHEM 1LD. Majors in the Schools of Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, and Engineering, and majors in Nursing Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Public Health Sciences, and Undecided/Undeclared students have first consideration for enrollment. Only one course from CHEM H2LB, CHEM M2LB, and CHEM 1LD. (Design units: 0)

Class Schedule:

Meets for 4 hours of laboratory each week for 10 weeks.

Spartan Program ($25, purchased from; Notebook, goggles, and apron can be purchased at the UCI Bookstore; USB Memory Devise (at least 256 MB).

Laboratory Projects:

Eight experiments will be performed, each worth 50 points. Points are distributed between procedures, data, observations, calculations, and results.
