**BME 110B Biomechanics II (Credit Units: 4)** Introduction to dynamics. Kinematics of Particles, Newton’s Second Law, System's of Particles, Kinematics of Rigid Bodies, Motion in three dimensions. Prerequisite: BME110A. BME 110A-BME 110B-BME 110C must be taken in the same academic year. Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering: Premedical, and Materials Science Engineering majors have first consideration for enrollment. (Design units: 1)

1. Determine the velocity and acceleration by integration of the equation of motion

2. Apply Newton’s second law to determine the equation of motion

3. Calculate the work of a force exerted by a spring

4. Calculate the kinetic energy of a particle

5. Calculate the angular momentum of a system of particles

6. Calculate the tangential and normal components of acceleration of rotating slab

7. Derive the equation of motion for bodies in constrained plane motions

8. Apply the principle of conservation of energy to solve the equations of motion after a collision

9. Use a rotating frame to write the equations of motion of a rigid body in space
